

He was born on July 12, 1940, in Caluya, Antique, Philippines. From an early age, Nileon demonstrated exceptional intellect and leadership. He graduated as Salutatorian from Southern Mindoro Academy, where he was known as an accomplished debater, an outstanding student, and a dedicated Student Council President. He later pursued a Bachelor of Science in Economics at Manuel L. Quezon University in the Philippines.
Before immigrating to the United States, Nileon built a successful career as an entrepreneur and building contractor in the Philippines. After settling in Texas, he continued his commitment to serving others through his work as a Nutrition Specialist at Carl Wunsche Sr. High School in Spring, Texas, where he worked faithfully until his retirement.
Nileon shared 61 loving years of marriage with his beloved wife, Shirley Manla Dimalaluan. Together, they built a strong and devoted family. He is survived by his children: Nileon Dimalaluan, Jr. (Rosemarie), Nonelyn Dupre (Charles), USAF Capt. Norman Neru Dimalaluan (Janice), Noemi Lozada (Danny), Nicel Manuel (Christopher), Norelei Santos (Rainier), and Nicole Janine Dimalaluan. He was preceded in death by his son, Niro Dimalaluan.
He was a proud and loving grandfather to 19 grandchildren: Norianne Dimalaluan, Norman Dimalaluan, Jr., Dannah Nerissa Lozada, Gabriella Nadelyn Gonzales, Gerielle Nadine Gonzales, Dan Abraham Lozada, Kathryn Rose Dimalaluan, Giselle Nadelle Gonzales, Niko Dimalaluan, Neo Dimalaluan, Jenmari Nissah Manuel, Roberto Neil Santos, Danny Lozada Jr., James Nixon Manuel, Joecel Nyka Manuel, Joecel Nyah Manuel, Joe Manuel Jr., Nejan Dimalaluan, and Nile James Dimalaluan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jovillo Dimalaluan, Sr. and Marcelina Maat Dimalaluan of Rumbang, Rizal, Occidental Mindoro, Philippines. He is survived by his brother Arnulfo Dimalaluan and was preceded in death by his siblings Jovillo Dimalaluan, Jr., Oscar Dimalaluan, Augusto Dimalaluan, Cesar Dimalaluan, and Sarah Dimalaluan.
Nileon had a deep appreciation for life’s simple joys. He enjoyed playing chess and Scrabble, and he had a lifelong passion for boxing, even managing a few Filipino amateur boxers. A gifted musician, he could sing and play multiple instruments, including the guitar, ukulele, harmonica, piano, and violin. Remarkably, he could even create music using a simple plant leaf, bringing delight to those around him. He is also a ballroom dance instructor and has won several dance competitions in the past with his wife, Shirley, as his partner.
Throughout his life, Nileon was a respected community leader, actively serving in various organizations in the Philippines. He was known not only for his leadership, but also for his generosity and compassion. He leaves behind a powerful legacy of love, strength, and selflessness.
Nileon was a firm yet deeply loving father whose guidance shaped his children with resilience and wisdom. He believed wholeheartedly in the power of education and made great personal sacrifices to help many relatives and friends complete their schooling. His home was always open to those in need, and his kindness was given freely, without expectation.
He had a vibrant presence and a joyful spirit. His humor brought comfort during difficult times, and his laughter was truly contagious. Those who knew him will remember him as a man of integrity, generosity, and warmth who made the world brighter simply by being in it.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all relatives, friends, and loved ones who have offered their prayers, support, and condolences during this difficult time. Your kindness and compassion are deeply appreciated and will never be forgotten.
Mr. Nileon Maat Dimalaluan, Sr.’s life was a testament to faith, family, and generosity. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

A Funeral Mass will take place at St Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church, 7810 Cypresswood Dr, Spring, TX 77379, US, on April 30, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
A Committal Service will be held at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home & Cemetery, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060, US, on April 30, 2026, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm.
