She was preceded in death by her parents Norman and Irene Patterson, sisters Emma Jean Phillippi and Doris Cochran, brother William Patterson, husband Donald Yarnal Sr., and son James A. Yarnal
Norma is survived by her son Donald Yarnal Jr and his wife Brenda, daughter-in-law Kristi Woodring, granddaughter Jayme Spiro and husband Harold, grandson Colby Mock and fiancée Morgan Martel, and great-grandchildren Deborah Spiro, Kevin Spiro, Justyne Spiro and Jaelyn Spiro.
In her younger years, Norma owned several businesses but her pride and joy were her later years where she worked at DeGeorge at Union Station as a social worker, dedicated to maximizing Veteran's Disability Income.
She successfully helped over 1,000 Veterans obtain their benefits and back pay.
Known for her quick and funny wit, Norma was a pleasure to all who knew her and will be fondly remembered.
The last few years, she enjoyed getting her hair done at the Paul Mitchell School, and you could often find her at her favorite restaurants such as Benihana and Syad's Mediterranean. Family and friends were paramount to Norma.
The family would like to thank Tina, Linda, and Sabrina for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in their final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home and Cemetery on Saturday, March 8 at 2:00 PM. Visitation with the family will begin at 1:00 PM.
