Olivia Knootz (Lou) was born in Houston, TX on February 4, 1970 to the late parents of Laura Gilesand Olee Kirk. She was the only daughter and the last of seven siblings. She departed her life surrounded by loved ones on July 29, 2019. At an early age, she attended St. Francis Catholic Church and later attended The Luke Church in Humble Texas.
She graduated from Forest Brook High School, Class of 1988. She became a proud and caring mother of two children, Kartrell Kirk and Kristyana Stewart.On August 7, 2011, she married the love of her life, Donald Knootz Sr., and lived a happy and loving marriage. She was employed by Aldine ISD for 12 years and Houston ISD for 10 years.
With a nurturing spirit, she has always had a passionate love for family and friends. Olivia enjoyed trail-riding, blues music, and going crabbing with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Laura Giles, Olee Kirk and stepfather, Glen Giles Sr.; grandparents, Mary A. and Joseph Dugas; brothers, Rickey Giles, Glenn Giles Jr., Arthur Giles; and uncle, Lawrence Dugas.
Olivia’s memories will always be cherished by her loving family: husband, Donald Knootz Sr.; children Kartrell Kirk and Kristyana Stewart (Rodney); threegrand-children, Cyrus Kirk, Kam’ron Stewart, and Raelynn Olivia Stewart; three step-children, Donald Knootz Jr., Johnny Ferguson and Dontayvia Knootz;four brothers, Lawrence Giles (Joan), Robert Giles (Carol), Johnny Giles (Kathy), and David Giles (Wanda); sister, Jan Johnson; sister-in-law, Cleo Giles,and a host of family and friends.
