

She married the love of her life, Leslie J. Jeko on the 24th of December 1949 in Port Arthur, Texas. Parr was a devoted wife, daughter, mother, cousin and friend. She was an active member of her community, and a faithful member of Second Baptist Church since the 1960’s where she served on the welcome committee and attended Bible Study classes. Parr was president of Tanglewood Garden Club and an eager volunteer for Bluebird Circle.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cynthia and Calvin Bertis Davidson and her husband, Leslie J. Jeko. Parr and Les loved supporting their grandchildren by attending their athletic and arts events. She was the happiest when she was taking care of her grandchildren and entertaining her family at her home in Houston and on Lake Travis.
Parr and Les were married for 71 years and left a great legacy of children, grandchildren and great grandchildren: daughter, Catherine (Cathy) Parr Thompson and husband Layne, daughter Cindy Blades and husband Bob, and grandchildren Cal Dolder and wife Miranda, Neil Dolder and wife Cathy, Joe Blades and wife Katie, Travis Blades and wife Jenny, Christiana Mouser and husband David, Jason Jeko Blades and wife Lyla, Caitlyn Thompson, Will Thompson and wife Allie and great grandchildren Trent Dolder, Gareth Dolder, Brooks Varkadoz, Camden Varkadoz, Kenzie Dolder, Audrey Dolder, Jackson Bron, Colter Bron, Jack Blades, Bonnie Blades, Lee Blades, Emmaline Parr Blades, Archer Blades, Sawyer Blades, Jonathan Mouser, Benjamin Mouser, Sarah Cate Mouser and Cedrik Jeko Blades.
The family would like to thank the many caregivers that gave her comfort and peace through her final years, including Nelvie, James, Stella, Daisy, Kiky, Flein and Anastasia.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o'clock in the afternoon until seven o'clock in the evening on Wednesday, the 26th of June in the library and grand foyer at Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.
A memorial service is to be conducted at three o’clock in the afternoon on Thursday, the 27th of June in the Hankamer Chapel at Second Baptist Church, 6400 Woodway Drive in Houston, with Rev. Lee Maxcy and Rev. Kyle Parrish officiating. Immediately following all are invited to join the family for a reception in Parlor B.
Prior to the service, the family will have gathered for a private interment at Houston National Cemetery.
