Patricia Meek Terrill

Patricia Rae Meek Terrill, age 85 passed away on September 21, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Terrill, her parents William Claborne and Bonnie Smith Meek, as well as her brother William Claborne “Bill” Meek, Jr. Surviving her are her son Doug Terrill and her daughter Patti Hefley and husband Roy. She was blessed with the most wonderful grandson, Houston Hefley and wife Brooke, along with her three great grandchildren Kippie, Quade and Utah; 2 sister in laws and a host of nieces and nephews. Pat was born in Laurel, MS on December 22, 1933. She graduated at the age of 20 from Mississippi Southern University where she was a Southern Belle. In 1954 she moved to Houston to work for Humble Oil. She met her husband of 54 years at South Main Baptist Church where he fibbed and told her that he was a member of the “young people’s greeting committee” so that she would go out with him. They later became members of Memorial Drive Baptist Church where she played the piano for many years. In 1978, she and Bob purchased their second home in Willow Springs, Texas and began raising cattle. They spent most of their time in the dance groups of Industry, LaGrange, Giddings and Brenham, meeting some of the world’s greatest people. Our mother was, without a doubt, the most devoted and faithful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. The last 10 years of her life were spent living with her daughter’s family. She was able to spend everyday with her great grandkids - they always knew that Nana was the keeper of the snacks. We will miss our Nana so much but rejoice in knowing she is with Bob and all of those who have gone before her.
