

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Rick Jacobus, who left us on January 8, 2024 at the age of 80. Rick was a beloved father, cherished friend and wonderful brother. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family and friends.
Rick is survived by his children, Anne Engelbrecht and John Jacobus, his brother Chuck Jacobus and his sister Mary Jacobus. Rick's family was very important to him and the cornerstone of his life. Rick was also a grandparent to Jackson and Lauren Engelbrecht as well as Brenan and Mason Jacobus. He loved his grandchildren dearly.
Rick's friendships were equally important, he cultivated many lasting relationships. Friends fondly remember Rick's kind heart, amazing conversation, and the countless memories made together.
Rick was born on November 14, 1944 in Ponca City, Oklahoma and touched the lives of many people. Throughout his professional career as a hospital administrator he displayed excellent commitment and passion and made a significant contribution in his field.
Beyond his professional achievements, Rick was a navigator in the Marine Corp. He was proud to serve his country and made many lasting friendship while serving.
Rick loved to write and wrote many books throughout his years. If you knew him, you know he loved his cigars and had a passion for reading and playing countless hours of solitaire!
The loss of Rick leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. As we reflect on Rick's life, we are reminded of the importance of compassion, generosity, and the impact one individual can have on the world.
A funeral service will be held on January 23rd at Houston National Cemetery, where family and friends will gather to celebrate Rick's life and bid a final farewell. The family invites all who knew and loved Rick to join them in this moment of remembrance and reflection.
Rick’s passing is a profound loss, but his spirit will forever remain a guiding light in our lives. We are grateful for the time we shared with him and the indelible mark he left on our hearts.
A committal service for Patrick will be held Thursday, January 23, 2025 from 11:15 AM to 11:45 AM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038.
