Patsy Turner passed away on January 18, 2021 at Courtyard Nursing Home of Natural Causes. Patsy is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Turner and survived by her mother Elois Oliver, 4 children, Tammy Wright (Bruce), Rhonda Rogers (Howard) Charles Burns and Carol Paulsen (Daniel), 12 grandchildren and 2 bonus grandchildren, Amanda, David, Amanda, Tyler, Shannon, Robin, Heather, Kelsey, Joseph, Hailey, Caitlyn, Jeffery, Brittany and Elizabeth. And between all those grandchildren came many great grandchildren. Patsy will be laid to rest at Brookside Memorial Park.
Patsy was the only child of Edgar Dale Bridwell and Elois (Miller) Oliver. Although Patsy was an only child she grew up with many aunts, uncles and cousins, spending much of her childhood at her grandparents.
A typical teenager, and considered a wonderful friend to those she knew, Patsy enjoyed a broad group of acquaintances and several remarkably close friends during her lifetime. While growing up, her best friends were Yvonne McGaha and Vicki Kennon. Yvonne passed just last year, and Vicki was still with her until the end. Both friends remained active in Patsy's life, always calling to chat and check in on her.
Patsy was always proud of her children and their accomplishments. Bragging to anyone that would listen. She helped in providing daycare for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved her sons-in-law even sharing similar interest.
Patsy was a Commercial Seamstress for McDaniel Drapery. Patsy’s mother, Elois owned and operated McDaniel Drapery. Patsy was employed there up until her marriage to her second husband, Kenneth.
Patsy enjoyed her leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. She enjoyed refinishing furniture, thrift store shopping, collecting blue willow and fiesta ware. She was content to enjoy her favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share her interests with others. Some would say she knew the location of every thrift store in a 50-mile radius. She had no problem stopping and picking up a piece of unwanted furniture off a curbside and giving it a second life, usually with a grandchild as her accomplice.
Patsy was a good Nana, and her grandchildren have many found memories of her, often referring to herself as "Nana Taxi", always there to the rescue for appointments, sporting events and coming home sick from school. She took many trips to Nebraska to see each of her grandkids be born, even her great grandchildren. She loved the sound of Anne Murray and Neil Diamond. Tyler Perry's Medea and Benny Hill made her laugh. She passed away in an exceedingly difficult time with little to no visitation allowed the past year, however she was fortunate enough to have her granddaughter, Robin, son-in-law, Howard and daughter Tammy by her side prior to passing.
