

Paul Ramirez, 86, of Pearland, passed away peacefully on March 16,2026. He was born on November 3, 1939, to Paul Ramirez, Sr and Irene Robinson. Paul lost his mother when he was 2 months old and was raised by his father’s sister and her husband, Refugia and Nicolas Aparicio who then became in his heart his mother and father.
Paul was married to his beautiful bride of 61 years, Eudelia Ramirez. Assisting family, friends and anyone they encountered was a priority for them. Paul served in the community of Houston as the owner of Drake Barber Shop for 62 years. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1959 – 1961. Paul was a man who served his community well. He was an elder of Juan Marcos Presbyterian Church. He served as Choir Director and Treasurer for many years. He also oversaw the building and grounds of the church. Paul was the Executive Director of Houston Esperanza Community Development Corporation and never refused to help anyone in need. Also, for many years he served as a Scout Master in Boy Scouts of America and was a case worker for Big Brothers and Sisters. On November 3, 2025, when Paul turned 86, he was awarded for his involvement in the community and received a Proclamation from the City of Houston and one from the State of Texas. The City of Houston proclaimed that November 3 would always be remembered as Paul Ramirez Day!
Paul was known for his positive outlook on life. He was affectionate and loving. He loved to tell stories and share his life with others. He had a great sense of humor and had a laugh that made your heart smile. And anyone who was privileged to know him became a friend.
Paul is survived by his wife, Eudelia Ramirez. His sisters: Mary Gomez, Janie Vela, Delia Campo, Rosa Ester Dye, Frances Lugo, and Melva Nora Sauceda. His brothers: Luis Ramirez, Joe Aparicio, and Arnie Ramirez. And many nieces and nephews. His sister Gloria Drake and brother Eddie Ramirez have passed before Paul.
Celebration of Life for Paul Ramirez will be held on Saturday March 28th at 10am at San Pablo-Trinity Presbyterian Church 7000 Lawndale, Houston, TX 77023. Donations in memory of Paul may be sent to Jaun Marcos Presbyterian Church at 3600 Fulton Street, Houston, TX 77009.
