Pauline Martinez

Pauline H. Martinez, 94 of Houston, Texas was born June 13, 1929 in San Antonio, Texas to Francisco and Juanita (Ponce) Hernandez and passed away on June 18, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. She was one of 13 children born to her parents and a mother of 9 children. She was a lifelong member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, a member of St. Vincent de Paul. She also served in other church ministries the church programs and where she was needed. She loved to travel and was always packed and ready for adventure. She enjoyed singing karaoke and attending parties where she would dance the night away.

Pauline is preceded in death by her loving husband, Santos whom she married at the age of 17 on September 29, 1946 and they celebrated 70 years of marriage before his passing. She is also preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers, Angel, Rufus, Enez and Raymond Hernandez; her sisters Nicholasa, Amelia, Maria, Francis, Irene and Isabel.

She is survived by her daughters, Margaret Munoz, Mary Esther Rivera and husband, Martin Rivera Jr; Bernadette Contreras and Celia Espadas and husband, Albert; sons, Francisco (Frank) Martinez and wife, Esmerelda; Santos Martinez, Jr and wife, Maria; Paul Martinez and wife, Margaret; Maximo Martinez and wife, Mary and John Martin Martinez and wife, Ann along with 28 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren and 1 sister, Maria Anita Cerda.

Funeral services will be held 10:30am, Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with burial following at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday June 27, 2023 at Funeraria de Angel Crespo Broadway Funeral Home from 5:00pm until 9:00pm with a rosary being recited at 7:00pm.
