Peggy L. Geer

Peggy Laurence Geer, age 79, passed away peacefully in Houston, TX., on May 14, 2012. She was born in Lawrenceburg, TN., on Nov. 20, 1932. Peggy grew up in TN., and later moved to Laurel, MS., in her teenage years. She graduated from George S. Gardiner H.S. and Blue Mountain College. Peggy was a secretary, teacher and mother to her two daughters. She was active in the Baptist churches wherever they lived and was a more recent member of Tallowood Baptist Church. Peggy enjoyed knitting, travel, played piano and organ in various churches and most of all she enjoyed to entertain friends. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Lucius C. Geer; parents, William and Bernadine Laurence; in- laws, William and Louise Geer and all of MS. She is survived by her daughters, Jaynie Geer McLaren and husband Terry, Carolyn Geer-Stiley and husband Bill; grandchildren, Scott Alan McLarena and William Geer Stiley; sisters, Nan Laurence Grantham of Fulshear, TX., and Laurie Laurence Longston of Memphis, TN. Serving as Pallbearers: Scott McLauren, William Geer Stiley, Terry McLauren, Bill Stiley, Jim Grantham and Gary Geer. Please send any donations to, Tallowood Baptist Church or Gidenns International. A Memorial Service will be held at Tallowood Baptist Church at 2:00 PM on Thursday 5/17.
