

Percy “Jim” Lawless, age 87, passed away July 19, 2023, surrounded by family. Jim was born in Millinocket, Maine on December 20, 1935. If you asked Jim, his greatest accomplishment in life was opening All Star Audio-Video in 1976 and being a father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Jim is survived by his children, Diana Highsmith, Mike Lawless, wife Ginger, Dale Andrews, husband Wayne., grandchildren, Jason Highsmith, wife Tamara, Brittany Morales, Ryan Lawless, Robin Stephen, husband Kevin and great grandchildren, Baylee, Ashley, Aaron and Emi Morales, Emma and Madison Stephen and Fulton J. Highsmith, III. Sisters, Philomena Russo, husband Ronnie, Dianne Theriault and Elizabeth “Betty” Rogers along with many nephews and nieces.
Jim is welcomed into heaven by wife of 56 years, Laurette “Lou Lou”, parents Donald and Phyllis Lawless, brother, John DiCentes, wife Barbara, sister, Carolyn Brichetto, husband Sonny, brother-in-laws, John Theriault and Richard Rogers, Sr., son-in-law Fulton “Jim” Highsmith, Sr. and nephew, Richard Rogers, Jr.
Jim and Laurette moved from Maine to Houston in 1957. Jim was employed by Sterling Electronics where he began his career in the warehouse and ending as Vice President. In 1976, Jim opened his own company, All Star Audio-Video, which is still run by the family today. In three years, Jim parlayed his first consumer electronics store into a multi-million dollar, seven store operation in Houston and Beaumont, Tx.
Jim was well known for his powerful handshake. He would shake and ask them, “Is that all you’ve got!” “Show me some more, Come on!” He loved telling stories and making up songs on the spot that “Rhymed Like a Dime Every Time.” He never met a stranger and just loved talking to people.
Though Jim was very thankful for his many friends throughout the years, his wishes were not to have an official ceremony and burial.
The family would like to thank The Barton House in Sugar Land and Blue Star Hospice, Katy, Tx for taking such great care of Jim. Your kindness and compassion for our family are greatly appreciated.
