

He moved to Galveston, Texas in 1945 where he spent the majority of his childhood. He graduated from Kirwin High School in 1957 and then went on to serve our country in the United States Army from 1957-1959, where he was stationed in Germany. After returning to Texas, Pete went to work for Hansen & Tidemann in the shipping business. After marrying, native Houstonian, Katherine Anne Pickard, he went on to graduate with a BA degree in Finance from the University of Houston in 1968. Pete then pursued a career in finance as a stock broker and then Partner of Moroney, Biesner & Co, a municipal finance firm in which he retired in 1994. He spent his retirement years traveling extensively throughout the United States and Europe with his wife of 44 years, Kathy Fisher, now deceased. He also enjoyed much of his free time in Galveston, Texas with many dear friends and family. Pete met his current wife, Dianne Parker and they married in August of 2010. They have had many laughs and loving times in the short year and a half they had together.
Pete was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Katherine Anne Pickard Fisher, his brother Martin Fisher and his wife Mary Fisher, and his parents Barbara and Martin C. Fisher. He is survived by his wife, Dianne Parker Fisher of Missouri City; daughter Leigh Fisher of Houston, Dianne’s daugher, Sheila White of Houston, brother Philip and wife Trudy Fisher of Missouri City; sister Kathleen Nelson and husband Edward of Buffalo, New York; sister-in-law Barbara Pickard of Missouri City; nieces, Niki Doyle and husband Michael of Houston; Lisa Studstill of Missouri City, Marybeth Nelson Considine of Boston, MA; nephews, Edward Nelson, III and wife Kira of Boston, MA, David Nelson and wife Jennifer of Charlotte, NC and Pat Studstill of Rosharon, Texas. He is also survived by many cousins, great-nieces and nephews.
Pete is also survived by many wonderful friends and extended families including Margot and Charles “Buddy” Schurig of Houston; their daughter Christina Schurig Nieland and husband Jeff of Houston; Janet and Everett Hruska of The Woodlands; God-daughter, Joni and husband Mark Fichter of West University; God-daughter Juli Hruska of Houston; God-son Russell Hruska and wife Rame of Houston. He is also survived by a very special family friend, Salena Jackson of Missouri City.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six until nine o’clock in the evening on Wednesday, the 19th of January, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston, where the recitation of the Holy Rosary is to commence at seven o’clock.
The funeral service is to be conducted at one o’clock in the afternoon on Thursday, the 20th of January, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, where the Rev. Leon Strieder, S.L.D., of St. Michael Catholic Church, is to officiate.
The interment will follow, via an escorted cortege, at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston.
Honored to serve as the casket bearers during the services are Michael Doyle, Kyle Hamilton, Russell Hruska, David Nelson, Edward Nelson, III, Jeff Thompson, Scott Thompson and Pat Studtill. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Everett Hruska and Charles “Buddy” Schurig.
