I grew up with Pete in California his mom met my mom and we met at I believe the age of six. We were great friends growing up through 10th grade when his family moved to Texas. After that he would always stop by and visit when he was in town to see other classmates and go to the 10 20 30...year reunions. One of the last times I saw him he showed up out of the blue and said I'm taking you some where, we jumped in his car drove down near Hollywood went out to eat. Next thing I know we pull up at the Hollywood Bowl and that's when I found out we were there to see the Beach Boys. I think I only saw him one more time when he showed up here and told me he was going to be traveling the world for awhile. When I got no answers I called a few times until his machine went down. Then went online and googled his name now I'm here.....Miss you my lifelong friend... peace

I was trying to get in touch with Pete and couldn’t. I started searching for his office number and discovered his months old obituary.   I called the funeral home who couldn’t or wouldn’t tell me anything. I found an old office number but the gentleman who answered said they knew nothing, that they had called his brother, who said he would call them back but didn’t. 

I never thought or expected Pete to be gone so young. Very sad.

I was verifying address for Christmas cards and I  found out Pete had passed.  He and his family were there for me when I was younger in college.  With the Law Enforcement Explorer Post in Spring Valley, Pete had helped give my life direction.  I am sorry to hear he has passed on, my wishes and love are with the family.

I am shattered to learn, months late, that  Pete has left us .  We hadn’t heard anything for awhile, looking forward to his planned visit West — we should not have let this silence go unchecked.   Pete was incredibly generous and compassionate, a rare mix of the tough cop and and a caring, vulnerable soul…. We teamed with him on the exasperating attempt to make a short film, which has yet to “succeed,” but brought us a great friendship.  We laughed and joked and had adventures — he was a friend, a true friend, and we are cut to the core by this news.  I think of that moment on the Cape Cod ferry, as we filmed the foggy shore, Pete stood at the stern watching the wake disappear into that all-encompassing  oblivion.  The wind caught his quirky black hat and we saw it spiral off into that gray void from which nothing can be retrieved — the film, for what it’s worth, is dedicated to “Pete’s hat.”  I hope he’s wearing it now;  it suits him.
