Policarpo Casilla Marzo, 91 years old of Houston, TX, suffered hemorrhagic stroke, passed away July 8th, 2023, surrounded by family and friends.
Tatay or Tatay Carpo as we fondly call him was a very simple man, and did farming to support his family. As his blended family continued to grow, he provided for his children and grandchildren with all the love, comfort, hospitality, humor and stability a family could ever ask for.
He was a respected figure in the community before he migrated to the United States from Philippines in 1995. He was a man of few words. He, alongside his wife Victoria, were happiest taking care of his grandchildren and so proud of their accomplishments. He loved gardening, always with a vegetable garden, and generous, giving away his produce. He read the Bible daily and loved watching his favorite TV shows. He was devoted to his wife Victoria, that even with his previous hospital admissions, without fail, he asked how his wife was doing. Tatay Policarpo was preceded in death by his parents Leonardo and Severa Marzo, four sisters and a brother. He is survived by his wife Victoria Marzo and his eleven children and their spouses, Mario, Remedios (Nestor) Sales, Robert, Josephine (Enrique) Bugar, Ruben (Nida), Cecilia (Danilo) Ancheta, Miguel (Esperanza), Ramil (May), Rowena (Dionisio) Peralta, Heidi, Joy (Leonardo) Frondarina.
Tatay has 32 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
He will be greatly missed.
Services will be held July 18th 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home Champions. Funeral Mass will be on July 19th at 11:00 AM at Saint Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church, Cypresswood Dr. Burial will be at Earthman Resthaven, I-45 Freeway.
