

Porfirio “Pilo” Villarreal, de 67 años, falleció el 17 de julio de 2026. Nació el 15 de septiembre de 1958 en Matamoros, Tamaulipa, hijo de Guadalupe Villarreal y Ramona Armendariz. Pilo fue un hombre de presencia firme y corazón entregado, cuya vida se distinguió por la lealtad a los suyos y una fortaleza serena que sostuvo a su familia a lo largo de los años.
En Houston, Texas, Pilo conoció a Amalia Cortez, con quien contrajo matrimonio el 9 de septiembre de 1978. Ese vínculo, construido con constancia y amor, fue el centro de su hogar. Pilo fue un esposo devoto, un padre orgulloso y un abuelo profundamente cariñoso; dedicó su vida a su familia y dejó una herencia de amor, fuerza y recuerdos entrañables que permanecerán para siempre.
Durante su vida laboral, Pilo trabajó para Baker Hughes por 10 años, desempeñándose con responsabilidad y compromiso. Fuera del trabajo, encontraba gusto en placeres sencillos: tenía pasión por raspar boletos de lotería, fumar y pescar, aficiones que acompañaron muchos de sus días y que hoy quedan como parte de las memorias compartidas por quienes lo quisieron.
Pilo fue precedido en la muerte por su nieta, Lorena Ramirez “Pico Chulo”, y por su hijo, Sergio Villarreal “Cheko”. Deja para atesorar su amorosa memoria a su esposa, Amalia Cortez Villarreal; sus hijos, Guadalupe Villarreal, Lucila Cardenas y su esposo Oswaldo, y Porfirio Villarreal “PJ” Jr. y su esposa Maggie; sus nietos, Luis “Lalo” Garcia y su esposa Nancy, Celestino Garcia y su novia Carolina Raygoza, Enrique Garcia y su novia Natalie Cordova, Isaac Villarreal y su novia Dulce Alvear, Oscar Ramirez, y Oswaldo Cardenas; y sus bisnietos, Arya, Samara, Sergio, Elaine, Julian y Evangeline.

Porfirio “Pilo” Villarreal, 67, passed away on July 17, 2026. He was born on September 15, 1958, in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, the son of Guadalupe Villarreal and Ramona Armendariz. Pilo was a man of steadfast presence and a devoted heart, whose life was defined by loyalty to his loved ones and a quiet strength that sustained his family throughout the years.
Pilo met Amalia Cortez in Houston, Texas, and they were married on September 9, 1978. That bond, built on constancy and love, was the heart of their home. Pilo was a devoted husband, a proud father, and a deeply affectionate grandfather; he dedicated his life to his family, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and cherished memories that will endure forever.
Professionally, Pilo worked for Baker Hughes for 10 years, performing his duties with responsibility and commitment. Outside of work, he found joy in simple pleasures: he had a passion for scratch-off lottery tickets, smoking, and fishing—hobbies that filled many of his days and now remain part of the memories shared by those who loved him.
Pilo was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Lorena Ramirez (“Pico Chulo”), and his son, Sergio Villarreal (“Cheko”). He leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife, Amalia Cortez Villarreal; his children, Guadalupe Villarreal, Lucila Cardenas and her husband Oswaldo, and Porfirio Villarreal “PJ” Jr. and his wife Maggie; his grandchildren, Luis “Lalo” Garcia and his wife Nancy, Celestino Garcia and his girlfriend Carolina Raygoza, Enrique Garcia and his girlfriend Natalie Cordova, Isaac Villarreal and his girlfriend Dulce Alvear, Oscar Ramirez, and Oswaldo Cardenas; and his great-grandchildren, Arya, Samara, Sergio, Elaine, Julian, and Evangeline.
Visitation will be held at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039, on July 24, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The funeral service will take place at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039, on July 25, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Burial will follow at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039, on July 25, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
