

She was a graduate of Smithfield High School and also became a Cosmologist. She accepted Christ at a very young age was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She later moved to Houston in 1977 and broadened her education by completing 5 years with Ultramarine Diamond Shamrock Corporation.
Ramona was talented in so many aspects of her life. She was a genius with cooking and having love for children. Ramona was a fierce woman holding fast to her beliefs, defending those that she loved. She kept her faith in God and kept fighting. She was a member of Wayman Chapel AME Church. She was also an online member of New Bethlehem MBC where she attended online services every Sunday.
Our angel was chosen by God to enter into the kingdom of heaven on January 5th 2023.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents Robert and Virginia Hicks; grandparents, James and Lillian Wilson and her daughter Erica Waire.
She leaves behind to cherish her love and memories: children, Regina Waire, Michelle Brooks, Mickale Brooks, Michael Brooks Jr (Jasmine) and Jermaine Brooks; her grandchildren Markayla, Camron, Amaria (Capri), Kimoria, Skye, Paris, Bryan, Michael, Taylor and Jamayiah; brother Camille Hicks (Pam); sister Linda Hicks-Smith (David); and her best friend and caretaker who fought with her to the end, Jackie Simmons and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
