

Ramoth Jeziel Leviticus McGee, affectionately known as Ray, Snapz, or Chopfather, was born on December 27, 1974, in Houston, Texas. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend whose presence brought warmth, laughter, and light to every room he entered. Ray peacefully transitioned in Spring, Texas, on October 13, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, music, and family.
Ray had a deep passion for life. He loved his family fiercely and found his greatest joy in spending time with them. His wife, Holley, was his soulmate and best friend—a bond that reflected loyalty, laughter, and unwavering love. He cherished his children and grandchildren, always taking pride in their accomplishments and guiding them with his wisdom, humor, and heart.
Ray’s love for fishing, rapping, and family gatherings captured his spirit—down to earth, creative, and full of joy. He had a gift for making people feel seen and loved, and his energy was contagious. Whether through music, laughter, or simply being present, Ray made a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Holley McGee; his children, Canaan McGee, Anthony Galloway, Thaddeus McGee, Stephen Galloway, Haley Galloway, and Ryan McGee; and his cherished grandchildren, Abigail McGee, Thaddeus Avery McGee, Santiago McGee, Aliyas Galloway, Noel McGee, Helena McGee, and Lilly McGee.
He is also survived by his loving mother, Valerie Hall Solomon; his sister, Danielle Joseph, and her husband David Joseph; his brother, Eric Solomon, and his wife Laura Solomon; and his sister, Lequetta Solomon. Ray also leaves behind three nieces, three nephews, two great-nieces, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will forever treasure his memory.
Ray is preceded in death by his father, James McGee; his stepfather, Larry Solomon; his loving grandparents, Earl and Marcella Hall; and several beloved relatives who welcomed him home with open arms.
One of Ray’s favorite scriptures was 1 Corinthians 13:4–8:
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud... Love never fails.”
Ray lived by this verse—always leading with love, kindness, and authenticity. His memory will live forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A visitation for Ramoth will be held Sunday, October 26, 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral will occur Sunday, October 26, 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A graveside will occur Sunday, October 26, 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.
