

Born on July 19, 1943 in New York City, New York to parents Beatrice & Vincent Guida Sr. who moved the family to Little Ferry, New Jersey. He attended Bergen County Vocational and Technical High School and graduated with a certificate in Design Engineering in 1960. He also attended the Newark College of Engineering.
Raymond Joined the Navy Reserves in 1961 with his childhood friend Dennis Scheifele. He spent two years serving aboard the USS Barney (DDG-6), completing a tour in Vietnam. He was promoted to Petty Officer Third Class Disbursing Clerk and was honorably discharged in 1967.
Raymond moved to California in early 1970 where he became an Engineer and relocated to Texas with the Johnston Pump company where he designed Custom pumps that were installed worldwide. He worked for Johnston Pump (later becoming Sulzer) from 1970-2008, and retired after a very successful career.
He enjoyed woodworking, and muscle cars as hobbies, and was a regular at a local fitness center where he enjoyed the friendship of many of his workout buddies.
Raymond is survived by his sister Joyce Raimondo and her husband Joe Raimondo and brother Vincent Guida. He is also survived by close friend Janet Elliott, and her son Brandon Hyman who was like a son to Ray.
