Houston and Lizzie Sheppard were married at an early age. As a result of their union, they were blessed with 12 lovely children: J.D., Esther, L.K., Hester Mae, Dora Lee, Clara, Fannie Belle, Ola, Ruthie, Bonzie, Leonard and Reather Murcille. Houston and Lizzie had 3 boys and 9 girls, and Reather was the 12th and youngest child to be born into the Sheppard family. Reather was preceded in death by her parents, all 11 siblings, her eldest son, Michael Sheppard and her husband, Frederick Benjamin Taylor.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Paradise Funeral Home, Inc, located at 10401 West Montgomery, Houston, Texas, 77088, on February 23, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
A Committal Service will follow at Paradise Cemetery North, also located at 10401 West Montgomery, Houston, Texas, 77088, from 11:15 am to 11:45 am.
