Reggie Ladonald Griffin, age 52, of Houston, Texas, passed away on October 10, 2025. He was born on October 23, 1973, to Joe Lee Griffin and Lucille Antoine. Reggie was a devoted Husband, father, son and brother whose life was characterized by love, faith, and service.
A man of deep faith, Reggie graduated from Booker T. Washington Senior High School in Houston before enlisting in the United States Navy, where he served with honor until his discharge in 1996. He continued to serve his community and his church after returning home. In 2004, Reggie married the love of his life, Dawanna Griffin, in a union built on mutual respect, shared dreams, and deep, abiding love. Their bond was a true testament to what it means to love and cherish one another through all of life’s seasons.
Reggie was an active member of Gospel Tabernacle Houston, where he served under the leadership of Bishop Gerald T. Dolphus. He was an Elder in the Lord's Church and dedicated to serving through the GTH Praise Team, Board of Directors and Men of War. His commitment to his faith extended to his involvement in the Gospel Spiritualites, where he shared his love for music and worship with all who encountered him.
Professionally, Reggie worked at the Department of Homeland Security, dedicating his skills to protecting and serving his community. But it was in his role as a loving husband to Dawanna and father that he truly shined. Reggie’s love for Dawanna was evident in everything he did, and his heart always found its home in hers. Together, they built a beautiful life, and the love they shared was a beacon to all who knew them.
Reggie’s legacy will live on in his unwavering devotion to his family, his faith, and the community he served so selflessly. His love, kindness, and leadership touched the lives of so many, and his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
