

Regina Riggle Brown, aged 88, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 3, 2016. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Regina made Houston her home since 1978.
Regina was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, graduating from Ursuline Academy in 1945. She met her future husband William Brown while both were in high school. Regina and Bill married on April 28, 1945, and over the next 70 years of marriage they raised four children, traveled the world, and enjoyed many memorable experiences together.
Regina’s interests included gardening, where she won many blue ribbons at the Rock Creek Garden Club in Saint Matthews, Kentucky. She was also an accomplished seamstress and artist, and the family enjoys many of her original oil paintings. Regina and Bill loved to travel, and they visited all parts of the US and countries in Europe and Asia.
Regina is survived by her husband William, as well as their children Douglas Brown (Holly), Carol Kormanik (Ronald) , Susan Brown, and Judith Davis (Steven). Regina and Bill have ten grandchildren, Michelle, Ethan, Ryan, Lori, Jacqueline, Lauren, Jennifer, Rachel, Hannah, and Austin. She also enjoyed three great-grandchildren, Morgan, Brayden, and Reagan. Regina was predeceased by her parents, Florence and William Riggle, and her sister, Juanita McCollum.
A visitation and memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 10, 2016, at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77079. Visitation hours will be from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, with memorial service following. Regina’s final resting place will be in Calvary Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Regina’s memory to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
