

Richard was a proud graduate of Reagan High School, Class of 1992. He dedicated many years of hard work to the service industry, working for Admiral Linen and Uniform Services. Richard was known for his strong work ethic, generous spirit, and love for his family.
He had a deep passion for sports and found great joy in cheering for his favorite teams. More than anything, Richard loved spending time with his children and was especially proud of his grandchildren, who brought him immense happiness.
Richard was preceded in death by his mother, Geneva Melchor, and his two beloved grandbabies, Marandah and Marcelah.
He is survived by his father, Richard Melchor, and stepmother, Gloria J. Melchor. He also leaves behind his loving children, Marissa, Gerald, Briana, and Jerad.
Richard was a proud grandfather to Mariah, Marabellah, Marlanah, Jeremiah, Josiah, Brody, Honey, Noah, and Elijah.
He is also survived by his siblings: Connie Burford and her husband Barry Burford; and step-sister Monica Layton and her husband George Layton and Mark Jason Melchor and his wife Gloria A. Melchor.
Richard will be remembered for his love of family, his warm heart, and the joy he brought to those who knew him. His memory will live on in the lives of his children, grandchildren, and all who loved him
Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo, 2516 Navigation Blvd., Houston, TX 77003, US, on March 16, 2026, from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. A Rosary Service will take place at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo, 2516 Navigation Blvd., Houston, TX 77003, US, on March 16, 2026, beginning at 7:30 pm.
A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Church Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at 10am.
