Saying goodbye to the love of my life was hard. When I met Richard in 1982 never did I think our friendship would last a lifetime. When we lost contact & met 10 years later it was as we never lost touch. Our love continued to grow & never stopped. No matter what came between us or what we went through we never stopped seeing each other or loving each other. We made so many memories, traveled, and loved hard. He fought so hard and never gave up. Even when he could no longer fight, he still fought. We texted " Love You" everyday until 3 days before he passed...That's when I knew....I will miss you always my friend, as you said "We will meet again" My forever Love

Richard hired me to take care of his mother, Ruperta. She was a sweet woman but didn't put up with anything. Boy, I liked working for her!! Richard was also a friend. When there was a problem he'd find a solution. He was a good man. You will be missed, Richard aka Sunshine. I called him that because he had a smile that could brighten up my day. He was cool!!! My love to the family. Always in my prayers.

My Condolences to all his loved ones, I've known Richard since I was a kid. He dated my sister for a really long time and lived with her for many years. They had a beautiful home together. He grew with our family. We all loved him very much he was a brother to my brothers and I My parents accepted him as their own. We have many happy memories with him especially the ones in Austin he loved it out there. I'm thankful for all the memories and I'm thankful for him being the best part of my sister's life. He brought so much love and joy into her heart and We're honored to have known him. He will be missed and Thanks to him I can't go to the store without buying Fig Newtons for the twins He got them hooked on them 😂 Until We All Meet Again May You Rest In The Arms of The Lord!

Dear Lisa,

I went to see your father today for the last time and seen you sitting down, as you looked up I waved good by to you, I was the man in the city shirt and hat, as you say goodbye to your father, may you find peace when you hear his voice in your mind, feel his presence in your heart, and see his face looking back at you when you look in a mirror. He was proud of you, my deepest sympathies to you during this sad time. I worked with your dad Richard for the City of Houston Traffic Operation and he was always a stand up man and it was an honor to work along with him, rest in peace Richard.

Richard and I both started working for the City Of Houston back in 1981. Who would’ve thought that more than 40 years later we would’ve built not only a great friendship, but a brotherly love. I’m so glad that I had a chance to see him one last time right before Christmas, when I visited him at home. I’m also happy that he got to spend time with the people he loved the most, his daughter Lisa, sister Lisa, brothers Rudy and Robert. I don’t have to tell anyone who knew Richard what a sweet, loving, caring, thoughtful person he was. He was my best friend, my brother, and he will truly be missed. I’ll see you again one day my friend, but for now, Rest In Peace. Love Always, Val.

But I catch myself. And it hit so hard. When I realize you’re no longer here. God truly sent me an angel .when he sent you into my life .my true best friend what would I ever do without you. is something that I’m going to have to learn to do .but I’m at peace knowing that you’re no longer suffering .thank you for all the great memories that we’ve had together. there would never be another best friend like you. you’re my only true best friend in this world until we meet again. I love you with all my heart and soul. I pray that you’re finally at peace. 🙏

Precious brother,
I miss you so much already. I will always cherish the times we had together. I’m so grateful of the loving brother you were to me. I’ll always be so proud of the wonderful person you were. I have heard from many of your friends that are so heartbroken and told me beautiful stories of how you impacted their lives. You had always done so much for others. It was my honor to help you in your final days.
It was so unfair you were burdened with so much to handle. May you Rest In Peace my angel. You will be missed by all who were fortunate to have known you.
Love you always,
Your sister
