Robert Alexander DeBoissiere

“Bob” was born on August 25, 1946, in NYC to Elizabeth and Falvain “Frenchy” DeBoissiere.

Bob and family moved to Texas when he was eight years old and was blessed with a forever Stepdad Bennie J. Ross who raised the family with our Mother Betty.

He graduated San Jacinto High School in 1965 with one of his friends Louis Ballesteros who was also in the Vietnam war.

Bob followed in his biological father’s footsteps as “Frenchy” was a Marine serving bravely in WWII and a retired Lieutenant Detective in the NYPD.

He is a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving bravely in Vietnam and earned the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He saw the horrors of war firsthand on the DMZ.

He joined the Houston Police Department on August 26, 1968, Academy Class #39. During his tenure with the department, he was assigned to the Central, Traffic and Accident, Traffic Enforcement, and Vehicular Crimes Divisions. Senior Police Officer DeBoissiere retired on November 6, 2009.

Marc Ruby, Bob’s best friend looked forward to their Thursday night dinner dates with deep conversations and lots of laughter too!

During his retirement he was a devoted student to Bible Doctrine and spent each day in studies.

Funeral Services will be held at Brookside Funeral Home – Cypress Creek on Friday, May 13, 2022, starting at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038 (281) 447-8686.

Survived by cousins Joanne Bonura & Daniel DeBoissiere, daughter & son of Charles Robert DeBoissiere (deceased 10/4/1984) & Ann Theresa DeBoissiere (deceased 5/3/2021) and uncle & aunt to Robert DeBoissiere.

Also survived by Daniel’s children/daughter-in-law, Andrew DeBoissiere & Christina DeBoissiere, Jeffrey DeBoissiere, Gabrielle DeBoissiere & grandson Alex Samuel DeBoissiere.

Survived by cousins Alex DeBoissiere, brother Tom & wife Jan DeBoissiere, sons & daughter-in-law of Robert John DeBoissiere (deceased 2/6/2013) & wife Betty DeBoissiere currently living.

Also survived by Alex’s children, daughter Emily DeBoissiere & son Allen DeBoissiere and Tom & Jan’s children Billy DeBoissiere & Kevin DeBoissiere.
