Robert Rooker Luke

Robert Rooker Luke, born Feb. 22, 1934 in Houston, TX left this Earth to be with his Lord & Savior on Oct. 11, 2011. He is survived by Joyce, his wife of 55 years; daughter, Meredith; son, Glenn; and grandchildren, Ronnie, Ryan and Sarah Luke; brothers, Thomas Luke and wife, Joann, Marion Luke and wife Frances; sister, Anna Lou Bradshaw and husband, Kenneth; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Robert graduated from Jeff Davis High School in 1952, served in the US Army for 2 years in Korea, and returned home to marry his sweetheart Joyce, in 1956. They then headed off to UT Austin where he pursued his undergraduate and Masters degrees in Mechanical Engineering. In 1960, they returned to Houston to raise a family and begin his career in the oil patch that lasted 51 years. Robert was still gainfully employed by Technip when he suddenly fell ill 3 months ago. He leaves behind a host of wonderful friends and coworkers. The family wishes to thank the Technip family for their thoughtfulness and support throughout this 3 month tragedy as well as his church family at Parkway Fellowship of Missionary Alliance. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brookwood Community for the benefit of Meredith Luke: The Brookwood Community, 1752 FM 1489, Brookshire, TX 77423.

Visitation will be at Forest Park Westheimer on Wed., Oct. 19, 2011 from 5-8 pm. Funeral services will be held Thur., Oct. 20, 2011 at 10 am.
