

Robert McCorkle was born in Carthage, Indiana on November 14, 1937 as the only child of Earl and Pearl McCorkle.
Robert’s career with Texaco began in Speedway, Indiana in April of 1963 and lasted until his retirement after 40 years of service. Robert moved with his family to Houston in 1982 and was proud to call Texas his home.
Squirrelly, as he was known by family and friends, enjoyed a lifelong love of sports especially his beloved Fighting Irish and Green Bay Packers, all types of music with “Staying Alive“, “If You Leave Me Now” and “Don‘t Stop Believing“ topping his list of favorites, a good joke, movies, daily crossword puzzle, Jeopardy, recycling, his dog and most of all he enjoyed his grandkids.
Robert married Carolyn Patterson on June 7, 1958. Although an only child by birth, he was welcomed and loved by the Patterson Family for more than fifty years. Survived by his in-laws Barbara (Eldon) Plank, Kay (Charles) Miller, Richard Patterson, Suzanne Patterson.
Robert was most proud of his family. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Carolyn, his children Robert (Maria) McCorkle, Stephanie (Elizabeth Conyer) McCorkle, Michael McCorkle and Kristine (Randy) Hollmann; Grandchildren Isabella, Abigail, Meghan, Jesse and Griffin; Cousins Carol (Jack) Snyder of Brownsburg, Indiana and Donna (DelMonte) Wagner of Arlington, Indiana and his favorite Schnauzer, Woody.
Mr. McCorkle was preceded in death by his parents; Paul and Nola Patterson; Gene Patterson; Carol Patterson; a very dear friend Sam Adkins and a son, Timothy.
Brookside Funeral Home of Cypress Creek in Houston, Texas was in charge of the arrangements with his final resting place Memorial Oaks Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to The American Lung Association or Animal Shelter of your choice.
