Robert “Doug” Montgomery, 67, entered eternal rest on January 11, 2019. He was born December 22, 1951 in Shreveport, LA. Doug graduated from Milby High School. On June 24, 1978, he married the love of his life Melodye Holland Montgomery. For 30 years, Doug worked in the floral industry at Taylor Wholesale, Kroger, and Houston Flower Market. He was a member of Kappa Alpha at the University of Houston. Doug loved reading adventure stories, but there was nothing he loved more than caring for his granddaughter.
Doug is survived by his loving wife: Melodye; children: Jennifer, Kimberly, and Michael; granddaughter: Bentley Grace; sister: Shelia Button.
Visitation for family and friends will begin on Monday, January 14th from 5pm-8pm with the funeral service beginning promptly at 10AM on Tuesday, January 15th at Brookside Funeral Home. A reception will follow immediately after the funeral service.
