

He was born in Galveston, Texas on February 24, 1934 to Miguel and Guadalupe Valverde. He was married to Irene Valverde for 61 years and they had four daughters. Robert proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War from 1951-1959. Robert served as a deputy for the Harris County Sheriff's Department from 1990- 2003. He was an active member of Second Baptist Church West Campus. Robert had a passion for his beloved wife, family and his dog Holly. Also, he loved traveling, researching and collecting antiques.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Miguel and Guadalupe Valverde; brothers: Mike, Oscar, Joe, James, Ernest, Alfred; sister: Rebecca Hernandez; and son-in-law, Edward P. Morrow.
He is survived by wife, Irene Valverde; brothers: Gilbert (Sokie), Richard (Carol), Edward (Santos), sister Helen Garcia, sister-in-law Josephine (Ignacio) Canales, daughters: Valerie (John) Santos of CO, Miriam (Richard "Rick") Denton, Myrna (David) Sobernheim of CO, "Bird" Roberta R. Morrow; his grandchildren: Jonathan (Jensy), Adam (Jessica), Miranda (Henry), Austin, Kristyn (Ryan), Ashleigh, Taylor (Jose'), Dylan, Leah, Mary, David and Lili; Great-grandchildren: Ella, Lina, Belle, Penelope, Addie, Amy Lou, Hannah, Andrew, Jacob, Grant, Joseph and Aleia; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, August 23, 2019 at Second Baptist Church - West Campus (Williams House) 19449 Katy Freeway Houston, 77094.
