

Robert was born in Long Branch, New Jersey. He moved to Houston, Texas with his bride and her parents Angelo and Lucy Sisto in 1952. He later built and designed his forever home in Missouri City, Texas, it was his pride & joy. He was very proud of the antique bar he built where many family gatherings and parties were enjoyed.
A proud veteran, Robert served his country in 1945 with the 246th Transportation Battalion of the United States Army. His time in service reflected the discipline, integrity, and sense of duty that would define the rest of his life. He carried those values with him long after his military years.
He found joy in the pursuits that enriched his days. An avid birder photographer, he was a Master Naturalist he had deep appreciation of nature. He could spend hours outdoors taking photographs then framing them as gifts to his friends and family.
Music was another lifelong passion. Entertained troops by playing trombone and guitar in 27 Special Services in Korea. Played for dances and Officer clubs in small combination bands. He played flamenco guitar with rhythm and feeling. Through music, he expressed creativity and discipline, bringing enjoyment to himself and those fortunate enough to listen.
A skilled woodworker, Robert crafted many beautiful objects that reflected his skill and craftmanship.
He was a Peach farmer, he had a 62-acre peach orchard, Chenango Orchards in Rosharon, Texas.
Robert was a Master Mason and a dedicated member of the Bellaire Masonic Lodge, where he served faithfully for 75 years. His remarkable tenure speaks to his character and steadfast commitment to the principles of brotherhood, charity, and integrity.
He survived his loving wife of 75 Years Angela Delores Woods, two sons, Robin Woods and Jeb Woods, and his daughter, Leslie Woods; his three grandchildren, Lauren Urreiztieta her husband Ricardo Urreiztieta, Christopher Robin Woods, and Madeleine Woods; and his two great-grandchildren, Antonio Urreiztieta and Alexandra Urreiztieta as well as Chino Prado his kindred spirit.
Robert Woods will be remembered for his love of his family, music, woodworking and photography. His legacy endures in the hearts of those who loved him.
