

Roberto Guarjardo Longoria born November 24, 1926 in Brownsville, TX went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at 10:21p.m. He was an amazing father, friend, fighter till the end, 20 months after his love of his life, 66 years of marriage, went home to be with our Lord. Daddy proudly served in World War II, Private 1st. Class, 738th Military Police Battalion from February 3, 1945 - March 16, 1947 under the direction of General MacArthur. He earned the following medals: Army Good Conduct, Asiatic Pacific Campaign, World War II Victory and Phillippine Independence. He devoted his entire life to his family. With Mom along side him, they kept our family together. His passions were Mommy, his children, fishing and his service in the Army. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Preceded in death by brother Jimmy Longoria and sister Dora Perez. The memories of Roberto will forever cherished by his children: daughter Emily and husband Cecilio of Houston; son Rudy and wife Sol of Katy; sons Roland, Johnny, and Robert, Jr. of Houston; son Rod and wife Debbie of Indiana; daughter Erma of Houston; and daughter Maria and husband Steve of Spring, TX; 15 grandchildren;37 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; sisters: Lala Escobar of Houston; Mary Jimenez of Houston; brothers: Manuel and wife Shirley Longoria of Henderson, TX , Richard and wife Judy Longoria of Houston, Ernesto Longoria of Houston, Texas, along with an abundance of family and friends. Visitation will be Monday, August 24 from 5-8p.m.. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00p.m. on Tuesday, August 25 in the Family Chapel of Brookside Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Brookside Memorial Park.
