Born February 29, 1960, in Cordell, Oklahoma, Robin was the son of Jacklon Clement and Atlas Vander.
After graduating from high school, he began his distinguished career as a Pipeline Control Supervisor, where he earned the respect and admiration of his peers. Robin was proud to be part of the tight-knit "ol' boys club" in pipeline transportation, known for his expertise. As a dedicated workaholic, Robin poured his heart and soul into everything he did, working for over 40 years at the same company. He started from the ground up, digging ditches, and eventually rose to the role of supervisor, earning the respect of all who worked with him.
Outside of his career, Robin's life was filled with joy, adventure, and the company of those he loved. He enjoyed a wide range of hobbies, including hunting, fishing, karaoke, dancing, telling stories and jokes, bowling, watching football, and riding motorcycles. But above all, Robin cherished the time spent with his family and friends. He devoted his life to ensuring their comfort and happiness, always putting others first. Robin was the first to rally others with a "let's party" and the last to say, "we're done." He was generous and caring, soft and understanding, and then hard as nails. If he believed he was right, he would not back down. He was a private man who only would let special people in. Robin’s love for his family knew no bounds, and this extended to his cherished fur babies as well. A diehard fan of the Dallas Cowboys, LSU Tigers, the Texas Rangers, and the Houston Rockets, he wore his team pride proudly.
Robin was a better man than most living today, honest and true with unshakable faith that was rarely witnessed by others. A man with many sides that he would only share with a few.
A special thanks is extended by the family to Chris and Megan Vander for their support.
Robin is preceded in death by his mother, Jacklon Clement, and his father, Atlas Vander.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 41 years, Julie Vander; his daughter, Debbie Rodriguez (James “Rod”); his sons, Donald Savage (Michelle), R. Christopher Vander, and Jacob Vander (Amy Lesko); his sister, Barbara Nipper; and his grandchildren, Madison Savage, Jaxson Savage, Jennah Savage, Dylan Lynch, Kayla Lynch, Maranda Rodrigues, Seth Vander, Skyler Vander, Alexa Vander, Mary Lesko, and Stanley Lesko. He is also remembered by Leonie Soyez and Gabi Toffoli.
