Rony Wayne Holt

Rony Wayne Holt - affectionately known as “Coach” passed away unexpectedly and peacefully on April 16, 2025, in Montgomery, TX. He was born on Sept. 1,1961, in Dallas, TX, Rony is survived by his children Alexander “Jake” Holt and Alexis “Allie” Holt. His mother Rose Holt and brothers Larry Holt and Garry Holt and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death father Herman Holt and sister Cathy Holt Pierson.

After Graduating High School Rony proudly served as a Military Policeman in the US Army, earning the Overseas Service Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Expert (Hand Grenade) Marksman (Rifle) medals. Following his honorable service Rony graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Teaching.

Rony was an educator for over 38 years of service in Spring ISD and Conroe ISD. He began his teaching career as a Junior High School English Teacher and Coaching Athletics and spent most of his time as an Elementary School PE Teacher. Rony loved his students, fellow teachers, family, and friends. He often stated, “I have the greatest job in the World”!

Rony was one of the kindest people you could get to know. He had a great sense of humor. Hobbies included live music concerts, playing guitar, listening to audiobooks and classic rock and roll music. He enjoyed family gatherings at his parents’ house with Aunts, Uncles and cousins with BBQ and pool parties being his favorite.

A visitation for Rony will be held Tuesday, May 13, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038. A memorial service will occur Wednesday, May 14, 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038. A committal service will occur Wednesday, May 14, 2025 from 12:45 PM to 1:15 PM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038.
