Rosemary Robertson Moriarty, age 66, passed away suddenly on Saturday, the 15th of April 2023. She was born on the 26th of January 1957, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to William L. Robertson and Marilyn Sadler (Robertson) Kurk.
Rosemary was the loving wife of Keith Alan Moriarty for 35 years and devoted mother to children Nicholas George Moriarty and Diana Lauren Moriarty. She also leaves behind her mother, Marilyn Sadler Kurk, her sister, Janice L. Robertson (Douglas Williams), George J. Kurk’s children, Susan Kurk Casone (Joseph, deceased), Sharon Kurk Smith (Stephen), and Diane Kurk Alexander (Brent), and her sister-in-law, Colleen Moriarty Callahan (Russell). In addition, she leaves behind six nieces and nephews, John Casone (Maura), Elizabeth Casone Ming (Bryan Woei), Kurk Alexander, Kyle Alexander (Caitrin), Bryan Callahan (Lyndsey), and Eric Callahan (Xexilia) and great-nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, William L. Robertson; George J. Kurk; her father-in-law, Kenneth Dean Moriarty, and her mother-in-law, Ruth Ellisor Moriarty.
Rosemary graduated from Memorial High School in Houston as well as Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches where she received a B.A. in Communications and History. She was an active member on the travel committee where she acted as the events coordinator in bookings of many famous musical stars and bands, which stemmed from her love of music. After graduating, Rosemary’s love of travel and culture ultimately led her as a young woman to be employed as a travel agent. Later, she became a contractor for an adoption agency where she led and facilitated information sessions for prospective parents, even as she and Keith adopted their own two children. Rosemary was also a genealogy enthusiast and documented multiple generations of her extended family.
Rosemary was also a loving and devoted mom to numerous cats and two very special poodles. She unconditionally and unselfishly loved her children and supported them all her life through the ups and downs. She loved her family and friends, and filled her home with warmth and kindness. Rosemary will be very much missed by all those that she’s left behind. Our hearts are so broken by this unexpected loss. She was one of a kind and to be loved by her was to be truly blessed.
