Rosenda Riojas, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2025, in Houston, Texas. Born on March 1, 1928, in Sugarland, Texas, Rosenda lived a long life full of love, resilience, and devotion to her family.
Rosenda is survived by her loving daughters and sons: Maria Miller and husband Donnie, Connie Rodriguez and husband Ricardo, Bertha Ruiz, late husband, Frank, Margot Benner and husband Richard, Marcella Sarabia, late husband, Steve, loving sons, Richard Riojas and wife Maria, Roger Riojas and wife Donna, Thomas Riojas, Russell Riojas who is survived by his wife Christina, Gregory Riojas and his wife Ana. She was extremely proud of her 19 grandchildren and 20 great-children, and always welcomed their frequent visits, especially her grandson Simon Riojas who resided with her.
She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Anselma and Simon Briones, her sisters Mary Almendarez, Consuelo Briones, Esperanza Briones and Anselma Clark, and her brothers Simon Briones, Jr. and Jesse Briones.
Rosenda's legacy continues on in her family, who will forever cherish her memory. Rosenda was known for her nurturing spirit and her passion for gardening, cooking, collecting antiques and, most importantly, spending time with those she loved. Her warm smile but strong spirit touched the lives of many, as she embodied the true essence of family. A beloved mother, gone from our sight but never from our hearts.
