Roy was born in Galveston, Texas, on January 20, 1953; however, his family lived in Baytown, Texas. Roy was very young when his father moved his family to a home he built in a subdivision just outside of Huntsville, Texas, and that became their hometown.
Roy graduated from Huntsville High School in 1971 and moved to Houston, where he lived the remainder of his life.
Roy was the youngest of six children. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel and Lillie-Belle Gullette, and his two older brothers, Bennie Barrett Finister and Donald Gullette, have preceded him in death.
Roy will live through the love and memories of his children:
Adrianne L. Richardson, Adrian C. Richardson, Anastasia “Stacy “ Kirksey and Roswell Gullette.
As well through his eleven grandchildren, his sister, Kim Davidson, his brothers Henry Lee and Larry Bonelle Gullette, his nieces, nephews, and friends.
