Roy Robbins Williams, age 66, of Bay City, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 9th 2023 in the home where he and his wife Carmen raised their children. He was born on April 9th, 1957 in Bay City to Lazarus Williams and Linda Garcia Williams.
Roy was an adored father, husband, grandfather, brother and friend. He met his wife Carmen while stationed abroad at Fort Clayton, Panama in 1980. Together they raised two wonderful children – Amabel and Danielle. Roy was blessed with three amazing grandchildren who affectionately called him “Grumpy Grandpa.”
Roy proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. After being honorably discharged, he dedicated 20 years of service working at World Airways where he traveled to countless countries like Africa, Jerusalem, Europe and the Maldives. He made countless memories during his travels and spoke about them often. While home, Roy loved nothing more than spending time with his kids, listening and watching Jimi Hendrix concerts, cooking his favorite dishes, and reading current events. Those that knew him would say he was fair, kind, respected and loved to just be a father. He enjoyed learning about history and before the internet, he would frequent the library several times a week and read the newspaper every morning for decades.
Roy is reunited in heaven with his parents; his brother Robert; and his beloved wife of 42 years, Carmen. He will be forever cherished by his children Amabel and Danielle; three grandchildren; siblings Ray and Sadie; many nieces and nephews; and his friends in the community.
