Ruben “Blackfoot” Delgado was born in Findlay, Ohio, on May 23, 1961, to Maria Elena Bautista Delgado and Pedro C. Delgado. He is preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Duran Ortiz. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Norma Delgado, and siblings Bella Angelina Delgado and Genevieve Delgado Mora. He had three children: Hope (Bryan) Rhodes, Ruben Vincent (Greizy) Delgado, and Christy (Jose) Rivas. He also had three stepchildren: Marqus Parra, Carlos Parra, and Lauren (Jimmy) Gonzalez. Ruben was blessedly survived by twelve grandchildren, one great-grandchild, a Goddaughter, Nora Hernandez, and a niece, Natalie Ortiz. Ruben was a devoted husband, a loving father, grandfather, brother, Tio, and friend.
He was always one to say something to make you laugh and was always quick with a smart response. He was a perfectionist in everything he did. He never believed himself too good to get his hands dirty, break a sweat or turn anyone away in need. He believed in family, loyalty, compassion and being a man of his word. He never hesitated to give a firm handshake or a hug to anyone. He loved riding his motorcycle and being part of the Thin Blue Line Motorcycle Club where he took the moniker of “Blackfoot”. He was very proud of his TBL brothers and sisters and the bond they shared. Ruben was a simple man who was all about the people in his life. His presence will be truly missed. Thank you, friends and family, for all your love and support. You each help us to carry on his memories through the relationship you had with him. It speaks to his legacy. Our family is forever grateful.
A time of remembrance will be held at Funeraria del Angel,
5100 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77022, beginning at 12 p.m. with a
celebration of life service beginning at 3 p.m.
Flowers are appreciated, but if you would like to honor Ruben and the community work he was a part of, please consider donating to the Thin Blue Line Foundation.
