Con profundo dolor y con mucho amor, anunciamos el fallecimiento de Ruben Herrera, quien partió de este mundo el sábado 18 de octubre, en Houston, Texas, rodeado del cariño y la presencia de su familia.

Nacido el domingo 2 de febrero de 1969 en Monterrey, México, hijo de Martín Herrera y Tomasa Candelaria, Ruben vivió una vida marcada por el amor, la generosidad y un espíritu inquebrantable. Fue un esposo, padre, hijo, hermano, padrino, tío y amigo devoto — profundamente querido por todos los que tuvieron la dicha de conocerlo.

Ruben disfrutaba de la vida con alegría y gratitud, encontrando felicidad en cada momento y compartiéndola con todos los que lo rodeaban. Ruben es recordado con amor por su esposa, Rosa Molina; sus hijos, Ruben A. Herrera Zavala y Karime Valeria Herrera Zavala; sus hermanos; y los muchos sobrinos, familiares y amigos que tuvieron el privilegio de compartir su vida.

Ruben fue un hombre de gran corazón y talento sin límites. Ya fuera en drywall, pintura, remodelación, HVAC, dibujo, baile o alegrando un lugar con karaoke — no había nada que no pudiera hacer. Tenía un don especial para transformar lo ordinario en algo extraordinario; lo que otros podían desechar, Ruben lo convertía en algo útil o hermoso. “La basura de un hombre es el tesoro de otro” no era solo un dicho — era su forma de ver el mundo.

Conocido por su bondad, su sentido del humor y su fortaleza inquebrantable, Ruben era alguien en quien siempre se podía confiar. Trabajador incansable y verdadero proveedor, enfrentó la vida con valentía y una sonrisa que inspiraba a todos los que lo rodeaban. Nos enseñó a ser valientes, ingeniosos y a afrontar los retos con esperanza y alegría.

Aunque ya no está con nosotros, el legado de Ruben vive en el amor que dio, las risas que compartió y las innumerables vidas que tocó. Será profundamente extrañado y recordado por siempre.

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Ruben Herrera, who left this world on Saturday, October 18th, in Houston, Texas surrounded by the warmth and love of his family.

Born on Sunday, February 2, 1969, in Monterrey, Mexico, to Martin Herrera and Tomasa Candelaria, Ruben lived a life defined by love, generosity, and an unshakable spirit. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, godfather, uncle, and friend—deeply cherished by all who had the blessing of knowing him.

Ruben embraced life with joy and gratitude, finding happiness in every moment and spreading that joy to everyone around him.

Ruben is lovingly remembered by his wife, Rosa Molina, his children, Ruben A. Herrera Zavala and Karime Valeria Herrera Zavala, his siblings, and the many nieces, nephews, extended family, and lifelong friends whose lives he touched so deeply.

Ruben was a man of incredible heart and boundless talent. Whether it was drywall, painting, remodeling, HVAC, drawing, dancing, or lighting up a room with karaoke—there was nothing he couldn’t do. He had a rare gift for turning the ordinary into the extraordinary—what others might discard, Ruben would transform into something useful or beautiful. “One man’s trash is another one’s treasure” was not just a saying—it was his way of seeing the world.

Known for his kindness, humor, and unwavering resilience, Ruben was someone you could count on. A hard worker and a true provider, he met life head-on with strength and a fearless attitude that inspired those around him to do the same. He taught us to be bold, to be resourceful, and to face challenges with a smile.

Though he is no longer with us, Ruben’s legacy lives on in the love he gave, the laughter he shared, and the countless lives he impacted. He will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.
