Ruben Arredondo Salinas

He is survived by his loving wife of sixty years, Maria E. Salinas, and six children: Angie Salinas-Streadbeck; Ruben Salinas, Jr.; Raul and wife, Shannon Salinas; Mary and husband, Chris Perez; Martha Leticia Schrantz; Gracie and husband, Mark Oberti.

Born in Agualeguas, Nuevo León, Mexico, son of Miguel and Ofelia Salinas de Arredondo. He loved his many grandchildren, his native Mexico, the sport of boxing and the "luck of the lotto." He was a adventurous spirit, having lived his youth to the fullest, moving from Mexico, with the love of his life, to Chicago in 1954 and starting a family, and eventually making his home in Houston, with his family. While he did not want to leave us on earth, he joins his first son, Richard and beloved parents and siblings in the heavens.

Friends are invited to visitation with the family from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm with the Holy Rosary being recited at 6:30 pm on Thursday, April6, 2017 in the Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77024. The funeral service will be at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 7, 2017 in the Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors. Interment will follow at Hollywood Cemetery, 3506 N. Main Street, Houston, TX 77009.
