Ruby M. Baumbach Jochen of Houston and San Antonio, passed away August 10, 2018 at the age of 86. She was born in La Grange on July 26, 1932, to Minnie Callsen and Arnold Baumbach. Ruby was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Houston for over fifty-five years. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Martin C. Jochen, two brothers, JW (infant) and Herbert; and two sisters, Lorene Klesel, and Ruth Kleihege.
She is survived by two sons, Larry (Amy) of Dubois, Wyoming and Dennis of San Antonio and her beloved grandson, Curt Jochen (Brianna), and two great-grandchildren, Connor and Carsyn, of Sabinal, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Ruby worked at Coca-Cola for over 20 years. Ruby crocheted many lovely gifts for all generations of her family and for friends' family members whom she treated as her family. She was proud of her role as Granny. Ruby never missed a family gathering and delighted everyone with her delicious baked desserts. She had a “green thumb” which was obvious looking at her yard of beautiful flowers.
Visitation will be 5pm to 8pm Wednesday, August 15th at Pat H. Foley and Company Funeral Home, 1200 W. 34th Street, Houston.
Funeral Services will be Thursday, August 16th at 10am at Our Savior Lutheran. Burial will take place at 2pm in the Black Jack Springs cemetery located near La Grange.
Pallbearers for Mrs. Jochen are: Ron Kleihege, Don Kleihege, Steven Baumbach, Gary Klesel, and Curt Jochen and Douglas Mican.
