She was the beloved wife of Bert C. Thompson, who preceded her to be with God in January 2015. They were married December 6, 1945 and enjoyed 78 years with each other. She was the dear mother of Mark Thompson; a loving mother-in-law to Sharon Thompson, and grandmother to Amanda and Brandon Lengefeld.
Doris was devoted to her family, friends, and church. She especially adored her granddaughter. She created a loving, warm home and was known for never meeting a stranger and terrific laugh. She was humble, kind and helpful. She loved to sing and play the game of Bridge, which she eventually play competitively.
Doris cherished her brother, Bill Storey and wife, Mary Ann; nieces, Shelley Fuller and Tammy MacFarlane and husband, Don.
She attended Westbury Church of Church for many years and treasured each of her friends. She often spoke of the class lunch, the wonderful lessons, and how much it meant to her to attend worship services each week. She gave until she could no more. She fought until she could fight no more.
Doris will be dearly missed by many.
