Ruth "Weezie" Dimmick

Ruth Eloise “Weezie” Dimmick, 84 of Huntsville, Texas entered eternal peace with her Heavenly Father on July 10, 2025. She was born April 22, 1941, to PR & Reba Smith. She met Bob and later they married on March 22, 1958. Together they raised four children.

Ruth received her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Houston in 1975 and her master’s degree from the same university in 1986 with emphasis in Administration and Supervision. She taught fourth and first grade at Oleson Elementary. She also taught first grade and pre-k at Magrill Elementary both in Aldine ISD. She served as Assistant Principal at Francis Elementary before being assigned as Principal at Stephens Elementary. She enjoyed her job and loved her students. She believed that as a teacher and principal one of her responsibilities was to be a role model with high values and morals for her staff and students.

Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the most important things in her life. She loved to travel. She loved dogs. Ruth was an avid gardener, and her specialty was roses.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, PR & Reba Smith, husband, Robert “Bob” Dimmick, daughter, Tammy New, son, Michael Dimmick, sister, Doris Justus. Left to cherish her loving memory daughters, Pam Dimmick, Kim Conger & husband Doug, daughter in law, Kelleye Dimmick, sister, Gail Mitchamore, 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 1:30pm with the funeral service to begin promptly at 2pm at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway Houston, Texas 77039. There will be a reception following the funeral service.
