Ruth Herrera Rojano

Ruth Herrera Rojano, age 84, of Houston, Texas, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2024. Born on July 18, 1940, in Tampico, Tamaulipas, Mexico, Ruth touched the lives of many with her warmth and generosity.

A cherished member of the Asociación de Beneficencia y Cultura, Ruth embraced a wide range of hobbies that brought her joy, including gardening, cooking, reading, and dancing. She particularly loved playing lotería and watching TV novelas, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. Ruth was known for her kindness, supporting causes such as St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Shriners Children’s Hospital, and the SPCA, advocating for her four-legged friends.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, Roberto Garibay and Matilde Cruz; her aunt and uncle, Guadalupe “Mami Lupe” Garibay and Rafael “Papa Rafa” Rojano, who were integral in Ruth’s upbringing and were very important in her life. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Carmen Cahuiche Garibay.

Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband of 62 years, Enrique Herrera; her daughters, Guadalupe Herrera and Ruth Noemi Herrera; her son, Enrique Herrera; son-in-law, Ronnie Whitehead; and her beloved grandchildren, Isaac, Aiden, and Ethan.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to all the friends and family who offered their prayers and support during this time. Ruth’s spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A memorial service for Ruth will be held Sunday, November 3, 2024 for 11:00 AM at Brookside Funeral Home - Cypress Creek, 9149 Highway 6 North, Houston, TX 77095.

Ruth Herrera Rojano, de Houston, Texas, falleció el lunes 21 de octubre de 2024 a sus 84 años. Nacida el 18 de julio de 1940, en Tampico, Tamaulipas, México, Ruth tocó la vida de muchos con su calidez y generosidad.

Querido miembro de la Asociación de Beneficencia y Cultura, Ruth disfrutó una amplia gama de pasatiempos que le dieron grandes alegrías, incluyendo la jardinería, la cocina, la lectura y el baile. También antecedió a su fallecimiento su hermana Carmen Cahuiche Garibay.

Permanecen para honrar su memoria, su devoto esposo de 62 años, Enrique Herrera; sus hijas, Guadalupe Herrera y Ruth Noemi Herrera; su hijo Enrique Herrera; su yerno, Ronnie Whitehead; y sus amados nietos, Isaac, Aiden y Ethan.
