Salvador “Chava” Subias, age 42, was born to Joaquin and Sanjuana Subias in La Colonia 18 de Marzo, Guanajuato, Mexico. At just three years old, he immigrated to the United States with his parents, beginning a journey that would shape the life of a hardworking, loving, and devoted man.
Chava attended Grissom Elementary School and Christa McAuliffe Middle School before graduating from Willowridge High School.
From a young age, Chava was known for being hardworking and intelligent. At around 10 years old, he began working in landscaping alongside his uncle every summer, a tradition he continued year after year. His hard work had its rewards, allowing him to buy the things he loved most as a child, including remote-control cars and tickets to Monster Jam whenever it came to town. Even at a young age, Chava understood the value of hard work and the joy of earning something for himself.
Above all, Chava was a family man. He shared a special bond with his sisters, Dulce “Candy” and Daisy. Like many siblings, they had their fair share of mischief and laughter. Chava especially enjoyed getting into trouble with his older sister, often just to tease his younger sister. These playful moments were part of the love and closeness they shared, creating memories his family will always cherish.
At 19 years old, Chava welcomed his first daughter, Alyssa, into the world and began one of the most meaningful chapters of his life: fatherhood. A year later, he welcomed his first son, Joaquin, and by the age of 24, he was blessed with his little princess, Kaylen. Chava loved his children dearly and was a devoted father who made every effort to spend as much time with them as possible. He wanted to see them happy and did his best to take them wherever they wanted to go, making memories with them that will forever remain in their hearts. His love for his children was a special part of who he was, and being their father was a role he treasured.
Chava also had a fun-loving side that brought joy to those around him. He loved dancing and singing. Although singing may not have been his greatest talent, that never stopped him from singing his heart out. He believed in enjoying life, having fun, and being himself. He especially loved playing pranks on his nephews and goofing around with them, filling their time together with laughter, smiles, and unforgettable memories. These moments captured Chava’s playful spirit and the happiness he brought to the people he loved.
Throughout his life, Chava worked hard, loved deeply, and remained grateful to the people who stood by him. He never forgot those who supported him along the way, and he was especially thankful for the individuals who remained by his side during the final years of his life. Their kindness, compassion, and presence meant more to him and his family than words can express.
The Subias family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered love, prayers, and support throughout this heartbreaking journey. Your kindness and compassion have brought comfort to the family during an incredibly difficult time.
A very special thank-you goes to Ramon Prieto, Chava’s cousin, for the extraordinary love, compassion, patience, and assistance he gave Chava throughout the last few years of his life. His dedication and willingness to be there for Chava will never be forgotten. The family would also like to express their sincere appreciation to Luis and Maria Medina for always being there for them, offering their love, support, and helping hands whenever needed. Their generosity and friendship have meant so much to the entire family.
Chava is survived by his beloved children, Alyssa Subias, Joaquin Subias, and Kaylen Subias; his mother, Sanjuana Subias; his father, Joaquin Subias; and his sisters, Dulce Bustos and Daisy Cruz. He also leaves behind extended family members.
Chava was preceded in death by his grandfather, Joaquin Subias; his grandmother, Maria Gasca; his nephew, Jose A. Bustos Jr, his aunt, Maria Rosa Subias; and his uncles, Salvador Subias and Manuel Medina.
Chava’s life was one of hard work, love, laughter, and cherished family bonds. Though his absence leaves an unimaginable emptiness in the hearts of those who loved him, the memories he created, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave will continue to live on through his children, his parents, his sisters, his nephews, and everyone fortunate enough to have known him.
Chava will forever be remembered for his loving heart, his playful spirit, and the special place he held in the lives of his family and friends. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and never forgotten.
