

Samuel served honorably in the U.S. Army. He retired after 20 years of service. In the private sector, he worked in Fire and Life Safety for over 15 years, retiring in 2019.
Samuel was a spiritual man. He believed in the word of God and often shared his love of scripture with others. He also enjoyed watching action movies, football, and listening to Jazz. He was a connoisseur of hats and was never seen without one.
He is survived by his six children Samuel L. Bell III, Shawanna L. McKethan, Ayanna M. Chew, JaQuinn J. Bell, Brian M. Bell, and Jerrico M. Bell; nine grandchildren - Imani, Isaiah, Imiah, Xavier, Jasmin, Sean, Jade, Kaianna, and Brooklyn; three siblings - Sandra Mitchell, Revis Bell, Deidra Davis and loving in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
The Gathering will be held at 10:45 a.m., Tuesday, March 3, 2020, at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038, followed by Interment at 11:30 a.m. at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038.
The family would like to invite family and friends back to American Heritage Funeral Home at 12:00 p.m. for a Celebration of Life with light refreshments.
