

Sandra’s love of Jesus was woven into every step she took throughout her life. She loved her family fiercely and unconditionally. People from all walks of life were drawn to her positivity, her fun nature, and her gift for accepting others just as they were. She had a way of making you feel like you were her favorite person simply for being yourself. Sandra’s presence was a blessing to everyone who knew her.
Sandra was affectionately known as Mrs. Blankfield throughout the community. She taught multiple generations of children at the Owl’s Nest Preschool. Sandra served as a teacher and director for 37 years touching the hearts of countless students and families. She led Owl’s Nest with the perfect blend of silliness and love, always bringing out the best in her students.
Sandra is survived by her husband, James “JR” Lloyd, with whom she enjoyed many of life’s wonderful adventures; her daughters Cory Thomsen and Shannon Slaughter; her sons-in-law Shaun Thomsen and David Slaughter; her daughter-in law Susanne Oliver; her grandchildren Jacob Oliver, Joshua Oliver, Clare Thomsen, Ian Thomsen, and Stella Slaughter; her great-grandson Jeremiah Oliver; her siblings Shirley Reidmeuller, Ginger and husband Tommy Brown, and Harry Paul and wife Carleen Logan; her stepchildren Courtney Helton and Bo Lloyd. Sandra is preceded in death by her two sons, Bobby and Jeffrey Oliver.
A visitation will be held at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, located at 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077, on November 30, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. A memorial service will take place at the same venue on December 1, 2025, from 11:00 am to 11:45 am. A reception will follow from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
Pallbearers will include Jacob Oliver, Joshua Oliver, Ian Thomsen, Shaun Thomsen, David Slaughter, and Mario Rodriguez.
