Sandra L Gilmore known by her friends and family as "Sandy" passed away at the age of 69 in her daughter's home in Bellville, TX on February 4,2016 just over two years after she was diagnosed with Glioblastoma IV Brain Cancer. Sandy surpassed the expectation of her cancer with courage, grace and dignity. Sandy was born on October 8,1946 in Houston TX and was adopted by Mark and Ruth Mullen. Sandy grew up in the Spring Branch area and lived in or near Houston TX her whole life.
Sandy survived by her daughter Lisa Driver and husband Dave, son Shawn Gilmore, Grandchildren Michael and Karen and Great Grandchild Zoey
Sandy was a collector of dolls and coins and a fan of music concerts taking a many of people to their very first concert, however her greatest obsession was Disney World, Sandy would take her children, grandchildren and an occasional friend to The Happiest Place on Earth as often as she could. Often saying if she wins the lottery she would rent a bus and take a bunch of kids that would normally never get to go to Disney World. Her biggest regret is that she wasn't able to take her great grandchild to Disney due to her Brain Cancer. She was a strong generous women who no matter what little she had she was always there to give whatever she could to others in need. Sandy will forever live in our hearts and minds.
The family is asking in Lieu of flowers and gifts to please make a donation in Sandra Gilmore's name to one or all of the charities listed below:
