I I'm Paris I am Sonny Garcia daughter and I just want to say that I miss my daddy and I hope I will see him again


Sonny it was a pleasure being your friend and part of your family for 27 years. I will always remember the many experiences we shared throughout our lives. When I met you I was alone and new to Houston, but you brought me into your life and mine was never the same. I'll remember the talks we had about the mysteries of life and death and everything in between. I enjoyed watching you grow spiritually throughout the years. I'm so glad you embraced the Lord and are with him now. Thanks for always lifting my spirits and my will whenever I was down.Whenever I think things are getting rough i will always remember your words of inspiration and know I'll be ok. You always told me to take it slow and enjoy life....and I will. Until I see you again my brother! For now I will continue my journey and take it day by day. I love you.

Padrinos de Santiago Garcia. Para nosotros fue una persona muy especial. Siempre fue muy atento con nosotros. Lo recordamos tanto cuando estuvo de vacasiones con nosotros en California. Una manana nos dijo que se le habia perdido su ojo y yo le dije, "ahi los trais". Y me contesto "del contact lens". Una memoria pequna pero nos reimos tanto!! Lo vamos a extranar muchisimo.

Sonny, I remember when I was a little girl you came to live with us in California. You helped Adrian and Mike babysit me when my mom wasn't home. I remember thinking "wow, my cousin has amazing green eyes". You were like another brother. Many years later, I was going to study abroad in France my junior year in college. At the time, I didn't have someone available to take me to the airport. I remember spending the night in Houston and you took me out on the town the night before my flight. We had such a good time!!  You were as genuine and caring as can be. My memories of you will always be those of wonderful family times at get-togethers, impromptu visits and laughing, lots of laughing!

     I can not say I have known sonny long compared to many friends and family, but what I can say is what I learned from knowing him; he was kind, had such a a zest for life and people. I could tell Sonny had a great sense of humor, gentle in his appearance towards others, a gracious spirit.  Even though we did not know each other long; he took the time to engage and always had a warm smile to greet and interact. The most important things I have learned about Sonny is he had an amazing life full of love not just for family, but people in general...that is not something taught but is innate...a gift  from God! 

     He also had a wonderful wife that resembled the same essence and qualities that seemed to mirror each other's personalities. A beautiful daughter and wonderful family that l am sure helped shaped who he inspired himself to be.  Most importantly he was a follower of Christ and within the writing's  that I have read and have heard not only lived the life of a true Christian but had an inner relationship with his creator as well.

My sincerest condolences to Santiago "Sonny" Garcia's family, friends, and brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus.  Matthew 5:4 Blessed are those who mourn, For they shall be comforted.  Chaguin, is how we knew  "Sonny" Garcia.  We grew up in the same neighborhood "Cottage Grove" in Houston, Texas. His mom, Rosa, took care of me one time as a little girl.  His father, who we called, "Senor Cruz" was and is a respectful and caring man, and always ready to lend a hand to anyone who needs help.  My family and I moved to Brownsville, Texas, on or about 1985 and remain in Brownsville to date.  Though we did not make it to Chaguin's funeral service, my mother, Ignacia "Nacha" Rodriguez, my sister, Mary Garcia, and I were there to pay our respects to the family recently.  To our surprise, we were of great joy to hear that Santiago "Sonny" Garcia accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.  God heard his mother's prayers.  Acts 16:31:  So they said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household."  Though "Chaguin" is not here in the flesh, he is in our hearts.  God continues to use him as a light to those in darkness so that others can also see how great is our God.  He left behind a great testimony, and a lovely wife, and Sister in Christ who we recently met in our trip to Houston.  May the Lord continue to use his family in doing His will, strengthen, and continue to comfort the family as this life we live in is only temporarily.  Soon, we will also catch up with "Chaguin" in heaven.  1 Thessalonians 4:17-18
Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.  John 14:1-2
"Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

I met Sonny on a bright, warm afternoon in Missouri City while showing him and his wife Mairo homes in the area as they were on the market to purchase a new home--which I was privileged enough to help them in making their dream a reality.  What immediately caught my attention was his down-to-earth demeanor and the evident love he felt for Mairo.  He also had one of his best friends with him who was tagging along for the home previews and we joked and laughed the entire time. 
Later on after they purchased their home, I had the privilege of having lunch with him and Mairo at their new home upon their return from their trip to Nigeria.  I sat there listening to Sonny tell the stories of the cool and amazing things he had witnessed and seen in Nigeria--his eyes shining and bright like a small kid with a new toy.  While he proceeded to tell me all about the trip and how it had changed a lot of his views, Mairo just looked at him and smiled.
It is unexplainable and very difficult to comprehend the reasons why God calls some of the great ones to Heaven sooner rather than later, and I am not one to question His will.  I am sure He needed more smiles and wanted to hear Sonny's contagious laugh and unassuming attitude.
My deepest condolences to Mairo and to the Garcia family.  To Mairo and Sonny, may the rain fall ever so softly on the fields you are walking on now, may the warm sun be on your face, may the heavenly winds be always at your back, and until you and Mairo meet again, may God hold you both in the palm of His hand.

This as been so unreal and hard to believe, your still a big part in my life and will always be. It's been so hard on us  especially your family. You're my brother you were always there for me when I needed you the most.  You gave me a roof over my head and took me in like a  father would to his son.  You've taught me how to be a man and to be responsible.  You took me under your wing and showed me that there's a  bigger meaning to life .  How I would love to have you here next to me right now just like we were in the good old days !  I know that I will see you again, We're only here for short amount of time and once were gone we will see  each other in the enternal life. I miss sending time with you,  but God has bigger plans for you in heaven. Sonny I love you so much!! Thank you for being my older brother!!

Sonny, it's been crazy these few days without you. 

Just like a dream, am still in shock and disbelieve. 

We were supposed to grow old together with gray hair and wrinkled sink.
Although you always prepared me for a time as this, I just didn't think it would come up so soon as you had always foreseen it. 

Am told God calls good people with excellent hearts first to heaven and that he needed you to be with him at this time and forever. May you find that peace (blue planet) you've always dreamt of. 

I would like to thank you for being an awesome, remarkable, faithful, loving, excellent husband. I thank you for adding color into my life and turning it into a beautiful sunrise rainbow.

It feels like I have known you forever, praise God we were able to accomplish a whole lot together and see differnt continents in a short little time. I thank you for loving me unconditionally, teaching me love, and helping me not to see color in people but to see all humans as one, one color (rainbow color).

I thank you for all the good times and the great times we shared together. You were my heart, my all, my best friend and companion. You truly were a perfect man in my eyes and a loving husband. I have no complaints about you, I can only count myself lucky and give God the glory for all the awesome years, days, minutes, seconds and milliseconds we shared with each other and how lucky we were to have found each other, became one, got along so well and shared true love.  I thank you for always looking out for me, serving me weekend breakfast in bed, all the spontaneous outings, actives and events we shared and explored, there was never a dull moment with you. 

You are greatly missed and will always be missed. You are my beautiful butterfly (hermosa mariposa) that will forever live in my heart, soul, and spirit.

It is an honor and privilege to have known you and work along side you in the workplace, You were always positive even when it seem things were against you, quick to forgive!! You made an impact even on those who watched you from afar. Thank You for the time you encouraged me and help me to know the seasons my son was in as a male child. Thank You for the talks about eternity. Thank You for trusting me to read your poems before published.  I know you are enjoying the presence of Our Father!! Forever Grateful The Father Allow Our Paths to Cross in this Life and of sure in the NEXT!!! You Made it, My Friend!!!!

This is still surreal to me.  I have to pinch myself to realize that indeed my brother has been translated out of this realm.  My heart becomes heavy when I realize that on my next visit to Houston , my energy filled brother Sunny will not be there.  I call you brother because saying you are just my friend doesn't feel right, for the short time I have known you,  I have  realized that you can have brothers from different continents. May your soul find peace and may the good Lord help us all especially your wife Mairo,  your daughter Paris  parents and siblings get over this heart ache your demise has caused. Adios mi hermano!!!

Sonny, there's nothing that can be said that will change what has happened.  You received the call a lot sooner than the rest of us. You will me missed by all of us.  

I've known you for 25 years.  You were the first of the brothers I met and I couldn't help smiling anytime I was in your presence.  Rest in peace.  Till we see each other again.

A treasured memory glistening in the glassy jewels

Your kind twinkling eyes yearned to
Flaunt the majestic pictures your words felt too short to paint
You spoke of love
When you shared your affection for the family which you held so dearly

When you reflected on the defiance of the sun

Sonny, what a privilege it was to know and work with you. Here at Bellaire and at the Clarke S/C. I have so many Memories that pop up, from time to time. Although it seems like a dream there are times I am still looking for you. But I know that you're in the Father's Arms. when I heard the News of your passing. I couldn't believe it! I got on my forklift and went to the pole yard, where we spent numerous times talking about our weekends. still in shock from the news. I cried out to the Lord Jesus Chris. saying Lord! I know that Sonny is in Your Arms. Sonny isn't in any Pain. He's healed and Happy. But Lord, Help us to endure and persevere in the things of this world. Sonny, I know we will see each other again. Tio Sonny, thank you for being a great role model and a great uncle. You taught me so many things through your writing and vivacious personality. I only hope I can be more like you throughout my life. I'll miss you and love you always.

My Dear Brother, 

I Love You so much and I miss you even more.  I still struggle to understand why you were taken from us but my consolation is knowing that you are serving a much greater purpose now.  I still pray for you and our family every night like I have since I was 10 yrs old.  I am counting on you to watch over Paris, Mairo, Mom, Pop, Christopher, Lizzy, Christy, Nicole, Hugo, Max and our entire family.

My Dear Brother,There is not a day that goes by that I don't think about you.Thank you for being a great brother,friend and mentor.You may have been my younger brother,but there were times that I looked up to you.You had an amazing heart and alot of great ideas.I enjoyed the time we got to work together,it was nice to be able to see you everyday for one year. I know that we will see each other again one day in the next life,till then you will remain in my thoughts  till that day comes for me.You will be greatly missed
