Sara P. Prindle McCarron

Sara P. (Peggy) McCarron, 85, passed away on February 21, 2010. She was born on November 24, 1924 in Monroe, Louisiana to Harry A. and Sara Prindle. Peggy attended the University of Tulsa where she was an English major; she shared her love of reading with so many in her life. A devoted volunteer, she dedicated time to many organizations including Head Start, Crisis Hotline, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, Hospice and tutoring children. Some of her best days were spent on volunteer projects with her children. Peggy was an avid reader, a wonderful cook and seamstress. She had a special affection for all animals and they loved her in return.

Sara is preceded in death by her son, Dr. John A. McCarron and by her sister Elizabeth Anne “Honey” Lacey. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, John McCarron; children, Dr. Sara H. “Shelley” McCarron, Marcia “Marcy” Eason and husband David, Dr. Michael McCarron and wife Kathy; daughter-in-law, Dr. Jane Reldan; grandchildren, Patrick McCarron, Katy Evans and husband Todd, Klarice McCarron, Chelsea Stabler and husband Garret, Shannon Eason and Valerie Eason; sister, Jebby Phillips and husband Dennis and many nieces and nephews. Peggy will always be remembered for being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at 3:00 PM in the chapel at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Following the service all are invited to join the family for a reception.
