

Janey was born on the 8th of November 1950, in Houston, Texas to Jack and Martha Jane Aldred and was a lifelong resident of Houston, TX where she attended T.H. Rogers Jr. High and Robert E. Lee High School. Growing up in the Briargrove area, she enjoyed swimming, horseback riding, water skiing and ballet.
Janey attended the University of Texas at Austin where she proudly received her accounting degree and was a lifelong UT fan especially enjoying attending and cheering for the Longhorns football team.
After passing her CPA exam, she had a long career working for Arthur Young which was a Big Eight Accounting firm, Baker Hughes, Service Corp International, and Drill Quip where she specialized in Securities and Exchange financial reporting.
Janey was an avid traveler and enjoyed being a part of various traveling groups. Her destinations included Ireland, Germany, Italy, Hungary, Austria, France, the Bahamas, Mexico City, Scotland, Seattle, and Alaska. In addition she traveled with her two cousins to Savannah, Nashville, Santa Fe New Mexico, New York, Chicago, and many other places in the United States. Among the many places she visited one of her favorite stops was New York City where she saw many plays on Broadway.
Janey volunteered at various charities including Avondale House for Autistic Children, Camp Hope, Fair Haven Food Pantry, and Neuhaus Literacy for Adults.
She is survived by her brother Val Aldred and his wife Linda of Houston, Texas, and nieces, Kelly Aldred; Christy Fuller and her husband Russell and their children Gavin Fuller, Gage Fuller and Garrison Fuller; and Casey Aldred.
A memorial service is to be conducted at half past one o’clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, the 28th of May in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston. Immediately following, all are invited to join the family during a reception in the adjacent grand foyer.
